Jazz land Burke
Utah acquires long-awaited potential replacement for Deron…
The NCAA Player of the Year, Michigan’s Trey Burke, was selected 9th by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2013 NBA Draft. The Timberwolves then traded Burke to the Utah Jazz in exchange for the 14th and 21st selections in the draft.
Mo Williams, Utah’s starting PG last season, is a free agent this off-season so getting a PG was a priority for the Jazz.
Burke led the Wolverines to the NCAA Championship game last season before losing to the Louisville Cardinals.
The Jazz are also scheduled to lose Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap to free agency so getting a young talent like Burke to lead the team is great for Utah.
In exchange for Burke the Timberwolves will get former UCLA star Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng.
